Custom Electric Heater Skid for a Paint Manufacturing Application

Custom Electric Heater Skid for a Paint Manufacturing Application

As specialists in the design and supply of custom thermal oil heat transfer systems, we have the resources to build custom systems in a cost-effective and timely manner. At Thermal Fluid Systems, we engineered the electric heater skid and control panel skid highlighted here for a specialty paints manufacturer.

Proper planning from the start promotes the best outcome. We worked closely with all of our clients to completely understand their process to ensure we engineer systems that fulfill their heating requirements and fit within their space constraints. In this case, we had a limited amount of floor space located underneath existing equipment.

Featuring loop process temperature control, this compact, 300 kW electric hot oil system operates in the 400°F to 550°F temperature range at a safe pressure of only 75 psi. It incorporates 150 gallons of thermal fluid and fits cleanly within the facility structure. Operating at maximum efficiency, it offers one million BTUs of heating power. Easy to operate, it is a safe and effective method for heating paint mixtures that often contain flammable or combustible ingredients.

We engineered this electric heater skid to provide exceptionally accurate temperature control to ensure consistent quality in every batch of paint produced. Skid mounting allowed our field technicians to drop the heater right into place at the plant.

We designed, fabricated, and installed this electric-powered thermal fluid system within a narrow 10-week timeline and continue to provide service and support from our Kennesaw, Georgia, location

Benefits of Oil Circulation Heaters in Paint Applications

Oil circulation heaters offer a reliable and efficient method for maintaining consistent fluid temperatures during the production of paints and coatings. These heaters support a closed-loop system, which helps reduce heat loss and improve thermal control. Because paint manufacturing often involves sensitive chemical compositions, maintaining steady temperatures is critical to achieving consistent product quality.

These oil circulation heaters are well-suited for handling high-viscosity fluids, and they operate effectively within the temperature range required for most paint processes. Their durability and thermal stability contribute to long-term performance with minimal maintenance. In applications where temperature uniformity and safety are essential, oil circulation heaters deliver dependable results without requiring constant adjustments or oversight.

Why Choose a Custom Electric Heater Skid

A custom electric heater skid provides a practical solution for facilities that require specific performance and space considerations. In paint manufacturing, where floor space may be limited and precision is essential, a compact, pre-assembled electric heater skid offers significant advantages. All critical components are mounted and connected on a single frame, simplifying installation and minimizing setup time on site.

This approach allows for precise control of process temperatures, which directly affects product consistency and production efficiency. By aligning the equipment configuration with the facility layout and operational needs, these systems support smooth integration into existing lines and improve workflow. For operations requiring reliable thermal performance and fast implementation, a custom electric heater skid delivers both functionality and flexibility.
